Does the job for the price

This machine does good coffe. We have had one for over a year and we are satisfied with it. It is a good entry level machine.

I've had this machine for a week now and am very pleased. You must use expresso coffee to get a decent flavour (i use mainly for cappuccinos). Milk frother took a few attempts to get right but using full fat milk as the instructions recommend and taking your time, I found I get a coffee on a par with some coffee shops.

Unreliable and breaks

Our machine lasted literally six weeks before giving up the ghost. We found it difficult to use from the start. Coffee would dribble over the sides of the high pressure unit, or would come through only weakly tasting of coffee. The high pressure unit is difficult to seal in position, requiring a lot of force that typically requires a fully grown healthy male to deliver. Eventually we figured out that using exactly the right amount of coffee, tamping it only extremely gently, and forcing the unit carefully but firmly into place, would produce a decent espresso with a good crema. However, after six weeks of heavy use, it stopped delivering coffee and the coffee-coloured water would simply dribble out of the top, down the sides and all over the place. A couple of times the high pressure unit exploded on us, delivering hot coffee grains over a 2m area. This product is so bad that regulatory authorities might be interested in it to review the unit's safety.
