Fantastic Beast of a Machine!

This is the best coffee machine I have used. My sister has a delonghi esam4200 bean to cup machine which is nothing compared to this. It makes great coffee and allows you to froth milk at the same time making it quicker than many other machines out there. Frothing the milk could not be any easier.The ADJUSTABLE arm (high-lighted as most other coffee machines only have the steam arm pointing down) allows the steam to come out at an angle which helps to swirl the milk around and create perfect microfoam incorporated throughout the milk. The hot water tap is good for making tea and good to make a paste of chocolate powder for hot chocolate.The pressure gauge helps to get the best result from your coffee. If the pressure is too low the water will run straight through making your coffee weak, and if it's too high you will have the risk of your coffee tasting burnt.Over-all a fantastic machine for the inexperienced, the advanced coffee maker and foamy hot chocolate and caramel lover! Very highly recommend.

A real disappointment

We bought this machine after a not so good experience with a Gaggia. Although much more money than we had planned we hoped the good solid design would ensure value and longevity. The machine is very good looking and solid. The fact that one can froth milk at the same time as make coffee is,an added attraction. However it is very noisy, much more so than expected. The main disappointment has been that having bought it in November, it stopped working in Jan and had to go back to be fixed. In May the steaming wand ceased working and now in June the whole machine has totally stopped with a big clunk. Perhaps we got a 'lemon' but if I am able to get my money back I think I will take that option. Very disappointed.Since writing this review we have had the machine back and it has been working fine. It seems that the loud 'clunk' mentioned above was down to not having cleaned out the wand with the little cleaner bit at the back (I wondered what that bit was for.....)!!!! Extraordinary that such a small thing could bring the whole machine to a standstill. Clearer instructions would be good. The machine makes a good cup of coffee and, after acquaintance gets easier. I would say that Graef were extremely helpful.

Buyer Beware

Purchased as a replacement for an Ascaso Dream (nightmare!)that I have endured for over 2 years. This machine couldn't be more different. Beautiful, hot aromatic espresso with no fuss or mess and I love that I can froth milk at the same time. A very solid, handsome piece of kit.UPDATE 18/12/13: After 12 months (and still under warranty) the machine developed a serious problem. I contacted the EPE Group who service Graef machines in the UK. After several unreturned phone calls phones calls I eventually got through to a service manager who arranged for the machine to be collected (by DPD) and returned for servicing. Two weeks later I have been contacted by EPE Group to be informed that the machine arrived 'damaged in transit' and this was not covered by the warranty. I have to pay £80 to have the thing fixed and returned. Shocking service from Graef and their UK agents. Given the cost of this machine I would have expected better.
