Great coffee at the touch of one button

I researched coffee machines for over a month before settling on this one. And my research included pod machines, flavia fusions, nespresso machines, as well as the vast array of bean to cup machines.This model is quite pricey compared to many of the bean to cup models on the market, but once you've seen the quality of the build, and more importantly, used it a few times, you'll probably agree that it's worth the investment. With the premium price you get a superbly made, high quality machine that makes what I think is probably about the best coffee you can get. A machine like this also offers the opportunity to get down to some serious blending. If you go to retailers such as Whittards where you can buy small inexpensive packets of a huge number of bean varieties, mixing, matching and experimenting will set you on the road to creating that elusive perfect cup of coffee.Good things about the machine: most importantly, it makes fantastic coffee, be it espresso or milk-based drinks; and making it couldn't be any simpler - it really is the press of one button; it turns itself on in the mornings, and then off again after two hours; every setting can be customised - size and strength of coffee, amount of milk, coffee bean grinding fineness, etc; it cleans itself before and after every use, as well as prompting you to clean the milk nozzle and empty the grounds when the waste compartment fills up; generous sized water tank so you're not running to the tap every single day; it keeps the beans fresh in a tight and generously-sized compartment, and finally it looks great - a serious bit of kit for hardcore coffee lovers.Bad things about the machine: I now drink, on average, fourteen cups of coffee a day; and I no longer enjoy coffee in the majority of coffee shops because I know the coffee waiting for me at home is far better.

Lukewarm coffee

Hi - if you like your coffee hot, this isn't the machine for you. You need to do so many things to 'optimise' the coffee temperature. Even after you do all these things, you still don't end up with a hot coffee. Especially if you like lattes, the milk isn't hot enough so you end up with a lukewarm drink. Coffee tastes great but you end up having to use the manual steam/froth feature in order to get a hot latte or cappuccino. Defeats purpose of this machine as you want it to do everything at the touch of a button or two.

The first delonghi had to be returned to amazon due to a faulty cleaning button, this was the esam 6700 so I decided to go for the ecm 26.455m at a higher price this was supplied by Coffee Matters and wasn't disappointed It is easy to set up and you can even view the procedures on you tube also.There are verious buttons to give you the coffee you like(from week to extra strong and also the amount of froth the milk it will deliver.One of the extra features is the oblong shape of the milk container.This fits into the bottom of the fridge when not is use which I found a bonus I had to contact the suppliers (Coffee Matters) and found they went out of their way to answer my questions and their after sales service was first class. Was the machine worth the extra money? Yes would I recommend the suppliers? yes they gave me first class service which is hard to come by these days. Only drawback, I can't go into a coffee shop now as their coffee hasn't the same taste as the de longhi
