I love this coffee machine. It does everything I expected to and I love the quality of the coffee it makes. Well worth the money and I would thoroughly recommend it!

Worst product that I have ever purchased

I purchased the Philips Saeco Intelia Focus HD8751/88 in late December 2012, it arrived promptly and and was making great tasting coffee to begin with.I started to experience problems within a a few months when the display on the machine stopped working. I contacted Philips who arranged for the unit to be collected and repaired - I was told it would take upto 7 days yet the machine wasn't returned for over 3 weeks. The machine was repaired and the machine was supposedly descaled as well - this was obviously false as the descale prompt was highlighted within the first week of use.I continued to use the machine yet within 3 months I experienced another fault where the coffee which was being dispensed was very watery and it had a tainted taste. I contacted Philips who arranged another repair of the machine. This time the machine was returned without any work being carried out - on contacting Philips I was told that the machine worked and if I wanted to have the problem looked into further that I would have to pay (even though it is still in warranty).I have contacted Philips on numerous times yet cannot get any answers to this, I am told that I will be called back yet no one ever does. I have cleaned, descaled and tried different brands of coffee bean yet I am still experiencing the same problems.This machine cost over £400 yet after 7 months I am forced into going back to an old filter coffee maker.All in all, a complete waste of time, money and phone calls.

Just fantastic

I was thinking of buying a new grinder to use with my Gaggia Classic, but instead decided to invest in a bean to cup machine. I found this on sale, and decided to go ahead and purchase it. At first I thought a bean to cup may not produce a really good tasting espresso, but boy, how wrong was I!You can make literally the perfect cappuccino with this machine and it is so simple. Rinsing out the brew unit every week is simple too, and the product comes with everything you need.The built in grinder is pretty quiet as well.Making a cappuccino is simple, but I would recommend purchasing a milk frothing jug and a cappuccino cup and saucer to fully appreciate what this machine can deliver.1 - Froth the milk and make it really foamy (easy with the portafilter)2 - Pour out 1 or 2 shots of espresso into your cappuccino cup3 - Pour the milk in. Use a spoon to keep the foam in the frothing jug.4 - Add the foam to the top5 - Add chocolate sprinkles if you wish.I went to a pretty expensive restaurant and had a cappuccino there, and surprisingly, whilst their cup cost about £3, I was able to make exactly the same, if not a better cappuccino with this machine.I would recommend using 100% Arabica Coffee Beans as you don't have the bitterness of cheap coffee beans, but it is entirely based on your preference.I am so impressed with this machine I would recommend it to all my family and friends.Don't think because this machine doesn't have an automatic milk frother that it is not good. In fact, it is much better to steam your own milk manually as you have more control over your froth.The espressos are really tasty too!So if you want the same espresso and cappuccinos that cafes and restaurants offer, go for this machine today! You can't go wrong.
