Fantastic coffee, super easy to use

First, let me say the coffee from this is FANTASTIC. It's truly delicious.The Dolce Gusto is a fabulous shape, and I'm sure it will be an iconic collectable in years to come.It has been upgraded from previous years with a slight variatiojn on the design so you can now control the amount of coffee and milk you add. Great if yuou like extra large! It now also has a larger capacity tank of 1.5 litres.It very, very easy to use and once you've tried the delicious coffee - you're hooked. You simply pop in the cartridge for milk, following the instructions for the amount of water, once completed change the cartridge for the coffee and you're done.Cleaning is a breeze. Simply remove the cartridge and run hot water through the system by pressing the lever and you're done.Fantastic. Highly recommended. I absolutley love this and am finding it has become a 'must have' in the kitchen.

Hot and mellow

I already own a De'Longhi bean to cup machine which is very reliable and makes a great cup of coffee so based on that I chose this smaller version to use away from home. This Nescafe Dolce Gusto Genio Play and Select is perfectly capable as a main coffee machine and could quite easily be used at a second site such as a caravan or even an office.The first thing to consider is the cost of the pods. In Asda they were £3.77 for 8 servings of the Cappuccino, Latte and Chococino which some may think quite expensive at 47p per cup. This price is similar to Amazon's but Amazon is a bit cheaper if you use the "subscribe and save" option.In the boxes I got from Asda there were 8 coffee pods and 8 milk pods and you need one of each to make a cup of coffee. However there are other types of coffee that only require one pod to be used, such as Americano, and here the cost per cup will halve. It may also be of interest to some that there is also a Nesquik pod for children.The machine is simple to use and completely mess free. You simply fill the water tank, pop in a pod and run the required amount of water through it. Repeat the pod and water if you are using milk based drinks. From start to finish it can only be a minute or two. The resulting cup of coffee was very hot, which for me was a blessing, but you can cool it down if you prefer. I like a double shot at the high street coffee houses and found the standard coffee to be a bit on the weak side but still very drinkable. There are options to customise your drink and you can vary the strength.My missus is a confirmed tea drinker but even she has had more than one cup of cappuccino and the hot chocolate drink is definitely one she likes.

This little machine looks stylish,is easy to clean and a doddle to use.Simply add the required amount of water to the container,switch on,pop in a capsule of ground coffee,hot chocolate,tea or Nesquik and move the lever right or left for hot or cold.A cup of hot coffee takes about twenty seconds.We've tried Americano,Lungo,Espresso,Lungo Decaff,Cappuccino and Skinny Latte Machiato.The Cappuccino comes in two capsule,one dried milk/one ground coffee, as do other milky drinks and you only get 8 drinks per pack as opposed to 16 with other drinks.We didn't think much of the Skinny Latte,but like the Lungo Decaff,the Americano and the Cappuccino.I usually drink coffee with milk,but find that the Americano doesn't need it and is better black.Not as good as you'll get in a coffee shop,but significantly better than instant,which for most people is the real comparison.We liked them enough to buy 4 packs from the Dolce Gusto website and it works out at about 23p-46p a drink,depending on which you choose.The only downsides are that some of them go cold quite quickly unless you warm the cup first and the Americano is bigger than most our mugs and cups.
