Product Description

The Magimix U Nespresso coffee machine has sophisticated technology with ease of use to enable you to make quality espresso. The motorised brewing unit is compact and the thermoblock water heating system means you only heat the amount of water required. The multi position water tank and removable drip tray allows you to adapt the machine to suit your space and needs. The machine will automatically pierce, brew and eject the capsule in one dro stop technology. The one touch controls have 3 different pre set cup sizes for ristretto (25), espresso (40ml) and lungo (110 ml). There is a power save mode where the machine will switch off 9 minutes after the last coffee was made. More than a third of the plastics used are from recycled sources. The Nespresso welcome pack gives you 16 capsules so you can start making coffee as soon as you have opened the box.

Capsules often trashed

I certainly wouldn't buy this again. On the plus side, it's exactly the size and shape I expected and wanted; and the coffee is very nice - but only when the machine decides to behave.The big minus is that it trashes one in five capsules. It doesn't matter if you place them gently into the receiver or if drop them into the receiver - one in five capsules catch on the edge of the water delivery tube, get crushed, confuse the mechanism and cause it to sit there for up to half a minute with its lights blinking. This is with the genuine Nespresso capsules I should add. Copy capsules perform better, but I've not succeeded in finding copies with as nice a taste.It's turning a pleasant but expensive treat into something irritating and even more expensive.

Terrible machine - Unreliable

Bought this machine to replace my ancient Krups Essenza. I really wish I had bought another Essenza. This machine, as commented on by another reviewer, trashes / wastes one in 5 capsules - The cost soon adds up. In addition, its volume dispensed varies almost on a coffee by coffee basis. It frequently "forgets" the programmed amount of coffee to be dispensed (not just whether you have selected a short or long measure, by the way) & needs to have its required volume reprogrammed - this has happened typically every 4 days. I cannot recommend this machine at all. Will be getting rid as soon as I can afford a new Krups Essenza!. Pity I can't give zero stars.
