Not as good as my previous Krups machine

This machine was purchased to replace my old Krups espresso pump that had served me well for several years, being used on a daily basis without a hiccup. Unfortunately, my brand loyalty didn't pay off as the XP4200 is nowhere near as good as my old machine. On the positive side it's a nice looking machine, and the Krups tamping system and ratchet to keep the coffee head in place are clever touches. However, all the nifty gimmicks in the world are no good if it doesn't do what it's supposed to: make good coffee.Most of the time, to save the faff of frothing milk for cappuccinos, lattes etc. I'll fill the head with enough ground coffee for a double espresso and let the water run through to fill a mug, then add a splash of milk. My tried and tested method for a decent brew and one that served me well with my old Krups machine. Sadly, even with a double's worth of home-ground beans, the XP4200 doesn't seem to have enough pressure to push the water through and get a decent flavour from the grind. Water flow was painfully slow and the resulting drink was tasteless (using the same beans, grinder, and process - only the machine has changed).If you were going from instant coffee to ground, then it would probably be a step up in terms of taste (from instant, what wouldn't?), but from previously enjoying a good cup of freshly ground coffee to this is a step backwards.The machine itself feels quite plasticky and cheap, much less robust than my previous machine. Sent back for a refund in favour of an entry-level bean to cup machine which has proved itself to be well worth the extra cost.
