This is a coffee machine

The De'Longhi ECAM23.210 is an excellent coffee machine, it looks and feels well made, solid and with good quality materials. It's convenient being able to access everything from the front of the unit. Crucially though it makes excellent coffee; it's very customisable, whilst it does have an array of standard settings for coffee strength, grind size, water temperature and amount of coffee, these settings can be augmented with the `My Coffee' setting. So if like me one of the pre-set cup sizes isn't quite right you can pre-set this to fill your cup to exactly the level that you want.Unlike some machines in this class you can get both steam and hot water out of this one to make the perfect Americano. The machine also automatically cleans itself when you turn it on and again when it is turned off, oh and you can configure how long you want to leave it before it powers itself off automatically, this is a useful feature, I was guilty of occasionally leaving my previous machine on overnight.Being a pedant I would deduct half a star for two issues.1. The milk frother is really effective - perhaps too effective; it does produce a lot of froth quite quickly and this before the milk is fully up to temperature.2. It does not have a cup warmer - It has a useful metal cup shelf on top of the unit but this does not heat up and cannot warm the cups.The machine does come with a separate water softener that you will need to replace periodically (each 2 months according to the manual). Fortunately we live in an area with very soft water and so I have opted not to fit mine. I think this may run to be quite expensive if you live in a hard water area,In conclusion, an excellent machine, an excellent buy - a very satisfied customer.
