It does what it says on the box, but do realise that it uses INSTANT coffee only

I was given this as a gift and at first glance it was not really what I wanted. After all, this coffee maker uses INSTANT coffee and will not take fresh ground coffee at all. However, the results are pretty good. I use Gold Blend or other quality instants and this machine certainly makes the most of them, producing a cappuccino which is really pretty indistinguishable from one you'd buy in a High Street coffee chain.It is easy to operate once you get the hang of it, but its essential to read the instructions carefully - you could do yourself considerable damage by opening the boiler top before you've released the steam - this is a high pressure steamer and it needs to be treated with respect. For this reason alone I have given it four stars rather than five, because in my humble opinion, the instructions don't make enough of this very important point.The machine makes up to ten cups of coffee at a time, but these are the espresso-sized cups. Normal cups are twice the size so it makes five of those. However, its easy to reload and get going again.It takes about four minutes for the machine to reach readiness and then you just turn the lever on the side and the cappucino coffee pours into the cup. I recommend using half milk and half water in the milk tank as it can be pretty sickly if you use all milk.Its essential to clean the machine after every session. Its self-cleaning however - you just run water through the cappucino programme and it cleans itself.On the whole, I'm glad I've got this machine. Whether I'd have bought it is another matter as I really prefer fresh coffee rather than instant, but at least I don't have to clear away coffee grounds from this machine, and in all honesty, I think most people would find it hard to tell the difference between coffee from this machine and the real thing.
