Great for small spaces or as a second machine

If you're expecting a supercharged caffeine machine with all bells and whistles and a go-fast chrome finish, you'll probably be disappointed. But as a quick 'n' easy, compact single shot device, it fits the bill perfectly. For a start, it's perfect for small spaces like cramped / already over-gadgeted kitchens or the office coffee corner. It's also light and easily moved around or stowed away when not in use. You still get all the functions you'd expect - milk steamer for nice cappuccinos and such like - and it produces a nice espresso shot from your favourite bean. The water heater is ready quickly for each use, and you can fit just under a litre of water in the tank (enough for quite a few shots really).A modest, mid-range machine which does a good job. Great as a first espresso maker if you're just 'getting into' coffee, and also a second machine to squeeze into an office or other tight spot.

too expensive for a nice cup of coffee

I read all the reviews on this machine before I bought and I have to agree with all of them.First of all this machine makes a really nice cup of coffee. That is in essence what you expect from a coffee maker a nice cup of coffee. Full marks on that.Another plus that some people were giving this machine was the fact that the machine is very light and therefore very easy to move. True but I don't really see that as a plus. It is on the counter in the kitchen.But:1) The machine is too expensive. I have to agree 61 euro is a lot of money for the machine you are getting. 35-40 euro would be a more correct price.2) It doesn't look the business. Agree. Everything is plastic so it doesn't look very classy.3) It is noisy. Yes that is true. Compared with previous machines it is more noisy.4) The tank is too small. Again very true. Very very small tankBottom line. Would I recommend this machine? No not at this price. If it was 20 euro less I would. Considering that I already got it 20 euro cheaper then in Argos you can say that his machine is seriously overpriced.

Small and compact and good VFM.

First thing that you notice with this coffee machine is how small and compact - and light it is! It really does not take up a large amount of space. I already have a really expensive De Longhi model but wanted a more compact and light coffee machine that I could take away with us when we go caravanning or to a country cottage and this unit fits the bill exactly! Yes it IS a little plastic looking, but for me - wanting it as a small portable unit - as long as it produces decent drinking coffee I am pleased that it is mostly plastic and therefore light!The operation of it is pretty standard by now. The water goes into a 0.8 litre reservoir at the back and takes just a couple of minutes to heat up. The ground coffee goes into its own filter holder which is poured in via its own scoop (provided) and tampered down with the other end. Operation of the actual machine is simple - put a cup underneath, when the light says the water has reached the correct temperature move the switch round to the coffee cup setting and hey presto - espresso!If you want a creamy, frothy cappuccino then get a mug or small jug of milk and put the steamer into the milk once it's also got to the correct temperature. Add the milk to the coffee and there you go - easy peasy!So how good is the coffee it actually produces? Surprisingly good for such a small and relatively cheap machine. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the results.The unit is easy to clean. Don't forget from time to time you will need to descale it - particularly in soft water areas. The recommendation for all coffee machines is about once every three months.A great little coffee machine at a bargain price. Recommended.
