Great Coffee

I bought this machine after a lot of searching and review reading and I am delighted with my choice. It looks great, is fast and very easy to use and delivers a superb espresso with a perfect crema every time. The simple controls and LCD display allow you to choose cup volume or temperature at the touch of a button and the pressure from the steam wand is great for frothing or if you press a button it will switches to hot water which I use to preheat my cups to make sure the espresso is nice and hot as the cup warmer on the top takes a while to heat up. I thoroughly recommend it.

Easy Peasy Quick Coffee

After having several coffee makers, we needed another, the last one dying in november last year. We looked round at umpteen and settled on this. How glad we did. It is easy to fill, quick to heat up and easy to clean. It is compact on the work surface and looks good too.You get two programmes you can set yourself for cup size, quantity of water and temperature, plus the preset ones of 1 or 2 cups with 40ml, 50ml, 60ml and 120ml, and 3 levels of temperature. My only niggly points are cup size, as with all espresso types you have to buy the bowl type cups if you want a large drink, it cannot take mugs at all. Also we are in a very hard water area (you get a test strip to see what type of water you have before you begin so you can set the machine accordingly). We only managed 6 days use before having to go through the descale programme, which you have to empty the machine and unscrew the head - watching out for the spring etc then prime through with citric acid, and after two weeks it was getting to be a bind, so bought a brita water filter to use only with this as we think Brita water tastes foul, but at least its ok with the machine and we have now used it for two weeks without it having to be descaled, and finally the steam wand takes a bit of getting used to, pull it out to use from the side of the machine, steam, remove jug, then push back onto drip tray. All in all its very easy to use and we would recommend this for anyone who wants their coffee in under a minute.I'm now updating my review May 2012. Its just gone pop. All the water is coming out the bottom and nothing into the cup. For a few week before the amount served into each cup has differed. It has needed descaling almost every week, which we bought a 1kg tub from Amazon as this worked out cheaper than going to the chemist. I still like the look of the machine, but having read other reviews and seeing the same problems we've experienced come up time and again I will not be buying another one of these. Thanks to Amazon and live Chat the problem of returns sorted out swiftly and collection arranged for next day.

Its great for me?!

Im no coffee expert, and this is my first time using a coffee machine. But me and my GF just wanted something that tastes a little more like what you get in the shops...So looking around we went for this one. i didnt buy from here but at the same price in asda...For me its simple to use, easy to read manual, and the display makes operating really easy. It serves the drink very very hot (my worry in other models) and the milk frother, although i cant use properly yet, is great..it creates a lovely hot frothy milk. You get a booklet as well, of how to create different types of coffees, and also tell you hot to draw hearts with the milk lolIt warms up quickly and doesnt take long to do a esspresso. As i said i still need to master the frothing milk bit, but once i do im sure i can create a lovely coffee like the shops.. Even with normal milk the taste is a huge improvement over instant coffee. I havent used the pods yet, i bought some nice illy coffee from the shops and its perfect so far. Im not sure how loud it is compared to others its nothing deafening when creating the coffee, its easy to clean and looks nice on the kitchen side...From a coffee "beginner" its perfect and great cups of coffee are finally in reach with this bit of kitDan
