A great machine

I bought this because I wanted something small, but powerful and bean to cup, to put on my worksurface in my new kitchen. This fits the bill exactly. It makes superb coffee - which is really hot - and does have a very small footprint.It also has an integral filter (which are easy to get hold of online through Melitta or Ebay) so the coffee tastes better if, like me, you live in a very hard water area where lots of chemicals and other nasties are added.It also has an added bonus in that the adjustable coffee spout is just that and you can get a nice, large or tall mug underneath, a problem I always had with my Delonghi machine, this machine's predecessor.The Melitta Caffeo Solo has no creamer for cappuccino so I bought the Melitta Cremio separately and this makes the best foamed milk I have EVER had at home. I know it's another £60 odd, but well worth buying it with this machine unless, of course, you only drink expresso or americano coffee (or you simply don't care about foamed milk!) in which case you won't need one.This machine is easy to use and you can vary the amount of liquid that goes into the cup by turning the dial on the machine, which is pretty useful. As I said earlier, the coffee out of it is really hot (my Delonghi was never hot enough for me) and, although it doesn't contain the whistles and bells that some of the very much more expensive machines do (and let's face it, half of us don't even use them!) it is compact, stylist, good-looking and makes a brilliant cup of coffee. Buy one!!

Mechanically unsound ............ steer clear!I wrongly assumed that the quality wound be proportionate to the price ........ sadly not the case.
